The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia will deliver the ERA Conference. The Ministry performs tasks in the areas of early childhood education, primary, secondary, higher education, adult education, science, research, youth and sport. The unit responsible for the implementation of the conference project is the Science Directorate. On the international level, the Science Directorate is actively involved in coordinating and implementing EU framework programmes for research and innovation (since Framework Programme 6).
The personnel of the Science Directorate are experienced in the field of preparation, management and implementation of different kinds of projects. This includes the organisation of large events, such as: Information days for the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation, the annual Žiga Zois’s Award (highest state award and distinction for achievements in the field of scientific research and development), and the Science Month (presentation of Slovenian science and research). Furthermore, employees of the Science Directorate are also shaping the research landscape through European Commission Horizon Europe Programme Committees and also Council related working groups.
This Conference is being held during the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU. This Conference contributes to the Slovenian Presidency priority on enhancing the European Research Area.
