Why attend?
After 20 years, the European Research Area (ERA) is undergoing a renewal. The ambition to create a single, borderless market for research, innovation and technology across the EU, is being revitalised. This Conference is an important part of the conversation. The Conference New ERA - Towards a responsible knowledge driven society of the 3rd Millennium (aka ERA Conference) intends to produce ERA conference recommendations for better implementation of the new ERA. The ERA Conference will, through mutual learning and knowledge exchange, contribute to better integration of the ERA in key stakeholder communities, industrial sectors and policy-makers on regional, national and EU levels, in particular those responsible for research and also from broader innovation ecosystems etc.
We aim to improve the understanding of the ERA to increase linkages between stakeholder communities and develop a common understanding of your needs – making sure the Pact for Research and Innovation in Europe, the ERA Policy Agenda and European Commission’s services work for you, the stakeholder.
The conference will put stakeholder needs at the heart of the new ERA, with workshop discussions on the second day focussing on key ERA Policy Agenda priorities and actions:

ERA for Research Infrastructures;

ERA for prospective research careers;

ERA for Open Science;

ERA for economy.
What are the main objectives of the ERA Conference?
- fostering exchange between Member States, countries Associated to Horizon Europe and the European Commission in relation to building a renewed ERA;
- giving a platform to stakeholders to reflect on the main challenges for effective and efficient implementation of newly designed ERA Actions; and
- providing recommendations (as outputs of the conference) to policy makers contributing to the design and implementation of the new ERA.
Who can take part?
Everyone is welcome to shape the ERA. If you are interested and willing to contribute ideas to the field of research and innovation, we would be happy for you to join us.
Make your voice heard!
In order to co-design and inform the conference proceedings, we are launching a video campaign, where we invite you, the ERA stakeholders to contribute one-minute video submissions relevant to the four breakout session topics of the ERA Conference (ERA for Research Infrastructures; ERA for prospective research careers; ERA for Open Science; ERA for economy). We’re looking for your opinion on one of the questions listed here.
To participate and help us co-design the content and the discussions at the ERA Conference, contact our technical team at VideoLectures.net, where you can schedule the best date and time to record your video submissions with Mr. Matija Ovsenek (matija.ovsenek@videolectures.net).
